The Russian occupiers damaged the architectural monument of the former fire department in Kharkiv, constructed between 1884 and 1886. The historic building with a bell tower housed a unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MNS).
However, on March 28, 2022, this architectural monument, which had served the city and its residents in fire emergencies for over 130 years, fell victim to Russian artillery. The attack caused significant damage to the facades, windows, and roof of this architectural heritage of Kharkiv.
