A powerful “War Up Close” exhibition took place at Okanagan College and the University of British Columbia in Canada on December 2nd and 3rd, organized by the project team. This event was made possible through close collaboration with partner David Lisoway, the charitable organization Sustain Ukraine, Little Hope Gallery, and the dedicated Canadian project coordinator, Olena Heychenko.
This initiative allowed hundreds of students to confront the harsh reality of the ongoing war in Ukraine—a conflict that continues to impact the lives of millions every day.
Visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity to experience the war through modern technologies, including virtual reality. Immersive visuals and personal stories helped many attendees grasp the scale of the tragedy unfolding in Ukraine for the first time.
The exhibition aims not only to educate but also to inspire action. The organizers strive to amplify the voices of those affected by the war and convey the truth about its consequences to the world.
“We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to organize this event. Let’s continue spreading the truth and standing in solidarity with Ukraine. Together, we can change the world”, — the project representatives emphasized.
The war in Ukraine is ongoing, and this exhibition served as a vital reminder to the international community of the need to remain vigilant and supportive. Each such event contributes to raising awareness and building global solidarity.
“War Up Close” is not only about documenting reality but also about uniting people around the idea of supporting Ukraine. Let’s keep showing the world the truth!
