Virtual Reality Exhibition War Up Close in Canada Unites Community in Support of Ukraine

On March 21st and 22nd, 2025, the virtual reality exhibition War Up Close & Arts was hosted in Castlegar.

This small town in southern British Columbia, Canada, has a strong and supportive community that stands with Ukrainians and believes in justice and lasting peace in Ukraine—and around the world.

The event featured our deeply moving War Up Close project, along with Sunflower Dreams, Sustain Ukraine, Eyes of Mariupol, and Unissued Diplomas.

The exhibition was attended by students and local residents. Over two days, visitors attended the exhibition at Selkirk College and the Castlegar & District Community Complex.

This initiative was made possible thanks to the Maple Hope Foundation and the generosity of donors from Canada and other countries.

Earlier, in Canada’s capital, an immersive exhibition War Up Close was held to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
