“War Up Close” returns to the United States of America. This time, our project was presented at the 47th annual Ukrainian festival of St. George in Manhattan. The event took place from May 19th to May 21st and gathered hundreds of visitors, traditional craft masters, and artists, led by Taras Chubay.
The booth with our VR goggles garnered significant interest among both adult attendees and young festival guests. While honoring Ukrainian culture and traditions, we also showcased the current situation in our country and how its peaceful cities look after the Russian bombardments.
“Despite challenging weather conditions – wind, rain, and scorching sun throughout the three-day celebration – it was well worth it. We thank the organizers for their support and for spreading awareness about the devastating consequences of war using VR technology,” commented the project’s co-organizer, Mykola Omelchenko.
We express our gratitude to all the guests and our partners: USAID, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Together, we have already held immersive exhibitions in Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, Washington, Rome, and Abu Dhabi. We have also presented the virtual museum project at the HillVets CAPCON conference in Washington and the VR Oslo international forum in the capital of Norway.
